    Teresa McMullen, 82, died on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota.
    Funeral services were held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia with Father Thomas Cook officiating. The organist was Gloria Eager and the soloist was Sue Rankin. Casketbearers were grandsons, Wayne Breitbarth, Kelly Cole, Jason Eineke, Michael Keech, Thomas, McMullen and Patrick Stripling. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.
    Teresa McMullen was born on April 8, 1927 to William and Cecelia (Starkey) Rubel in Comfrey, Minnesota. She grew up in the Madelia area and graduated from Madelia High School in 1945.
    On June 12, 1952 she married Robert McMullen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia. They lived and farmed in rural Lewisville. She worked many years as a hairdresser. She moved to Madelia after Robert’s death in January of 1997.
    Teresa was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and women’s groups and also taught religion classes. She was also a member of the Madelia VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, fishing bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.
    Survivors include three sons, Doug (Charlotte) of New Burn, NC, Bill (Jeanne) of Madelia, MN and Larry (Barbara) of Lewisville, MN; five daughters, Cecelia Hippert of Madelia, MN, Cathy Breitbarth (Al) of Truman, MN, Rozann Stripling (Richard) of Key Largo, FL, Joyce Eineke (Richard) and Janice Keech (John) all of St. James, MN; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother and many nieces and nephews.
    Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.
