Ruth Breitbarth, 88, of Madelia, formerly of Lewisville died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisville, with Reverend Brian Thorson officiating. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman and will continue for one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
Ruth Clara Anna Eineke was born on November 3, 1921 to Albert and Emma (Bahr) Eineke in South Branch Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 13, 1921 at St. John’s Lutheran Church-South Branch and confirmed there on April 5, 1936. She attended school at St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School in South Branch.
On December 30, 1943 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Breitbarth at St. John’s Lutheran Church-South Branch. They farmed in rural Truman and she worked for Tony Downs in St. James for several years until 1957 when they moved to Lewisville.
Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville and the Lewisville Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include son, Dennis Breitbarth and his wife Marjean of Fairmont, MN; daughter-in-law, Dianne Breitbarth of Stillwater, MN; five grandchildren, Lisa, Kris, Brian, Jason and Adam; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Arlene Siem of Austin, MN and four sisters-in-law.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert on August 14, 1996; son, Delford; daughter, Mary Siem; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church microphone fund.
