    Kenneth Asche, 49, of Winnebago died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Mapleton Community Center in Mapleton.
    Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota, Iowa with Pastor Donna Steven officiating. Burial followed at Maple Hill Cemetery in Lakota.
    Visitation was held on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth and continued for one hour prior to services at the church.
    Kenneth Wayne Asche was born on January 12, 1961 to Wilbur and Norma (Hippen) Asche in Britt, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Lakota, Iowa. The family resided by Lakota. He attended the Ledyard Community School until his junior year when Ledyard consolidated with Swea City. He was a member of the first graduating class of North Kossuth High School in 1979. Shortly after graduation, he started working at Telex in Blue Earth. He worked there for 26 years before they closed in 2006. He then was employed with Teledyne Aerospace for a little over a year before starting at Wal-Mart in Fairmont in June 2007. After his mother’s passing in 2006 he continued working as the church custodian.
    Kenneth lived in Winnebago for over 20 years, where he was an avid bowler, receiving many awards. He was inducted into the Winnebago Area Bowling Hall of Fame in November 2002 for outstanding performance. He also golfed, again receiving many awards. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV. Life changed in July 2009 when he was diagnosed with oral cancer.
    Survivors include his sisters, Connie Salas and special friend Dave Johnson of Storm Lake, IA, Patty Froslan and husband Leonard of Lewisville, MN and Kathy Miller and husband Tim of Storm Lake, IA; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Salas of Storm Lake, IA, Jennifer (Gilbert) Parada of Bellevue, NE, Felisha Miller of Storm Lake, IA, Billy Froslan of New Ulm, MN and Kevin (Autumn) Froslan of Albert Lea, MN; aunts and uncles, Leona and Dick Farrow of Swea City, IA, Rose Hagedorn of Blue Earth, MN, Larry and Judy Hippen of Fresno, CA, LaMae Hippen of St. James, MN and Gloria and Eddie Asche of Lakota, IA; and many cousins and friends.
    Kenneth was preceded in death by his dad, Wilbur in December of 2001; his mom, Norma in April of 2006; both sets of grandparents, Thomas and Jennie Asche and Lammert and Elizabeth Hippen and his aunts and uncles, Henry Hippen, Don Hagedorn and John and Mary Hippen.
