Dear Editor,
The legislator has a great opportunity to end welfare corruption.
I see people with an EBT card buying beer, cigarettes, Wii’s, jewelry and TV’s. I even see them using their cards for cash to go to the bar and casinos. Instead of buying what their family needs such as shampoo, clothing and toilet paper, they’re buying junk and gambling. That’s not what I pay my taxes for!
I see people with four Minnesota ID cards with different names and with their photo on them all. They get checks from four different counties and have them sent to Post Offices boxes in each county instead of a street address. These people not only are getting four checks each month from different counties, they can also vote in four different counties because of these fake ID’s. I can see some collected from different states at the same time. Yes, there are people who need help for a short period of time, but let’s work to end the fraud and save the counties thousands of dollars.
It’s time for the state to set up hand scans at all driver’s locations and all government locations where people apply for government aid. There is no crime in having the state verify who the person is, that’s applying for aid. Personally, I would require random drug testing too.
Both parties have known of these issues for years and have done nothing to correct them! I’m putting the state first and will vote for Independent Party candidates.
