On Friday, September 30, the Minnesota Department of Education will release to the public the standardized test scores of all Minnesota students and schools from the spring of 2011. Those of us in the St James Public Schools are aware that our test scores could be improved. The school staff met this past Monday to begin developing a plan for improving the achievement and learning of our students and the environment in which they learn. Teachers, support staff and administration are moving forward together to address our toughest issues. We are asking the community to join in our efforts.
Schools and communities rely on each other for growth and success. The hard reality is that we are in need of improvement. The positive reality is that we have an opportunity as students, staff, parents and community to hold each other accountable. Both our school district and community will be better for that.
We are asking you to join us in creating positive change.
