Thinking about Fall

The change in the weather and cooler temperatures certainly has got all of us thinking about Fall. The comment I hear the most is “I wish we could keep this kind of weather until about December 24th, and then right after Christmas Day and a little snow, have it continue until about the end of February. By then spring is close at hand.”
Weather? Isn’t it amazing how much it controls our lives, or how much we let it control our lives. Interestingly enough, it is one of those constants in life that we absolutely cannot change. What we get, is what we get!
Which brings me to this question: Would you and I really like one type of seasonal weather all year long?  This morning I was commenting to someone on what a nice day it was. We agreed and  if we would really like it all year long, then San Diego, California would be the place for us. San Diego has about the most  consistent weather and temperatures as about anyplace I know. Would I really like it? Honestly, I wouldn’t. I look forward to the change of seasons. I admit, sometimes winter gets a little too long and I develop “cabin fever.” But, don’t we all!
With the change of seasons I can look forward to new adventures and activities. Each season has ones specifically geared towards the weather for that time of year.
The other thing I look forward to with the change of seasons is that each season gives me a chance to start over. If I’ve been down in the doldrums, getting a little bored with what I’m doing, or just hungry for a change- the beginning of a new season offers a pick-me-up.
For all of you sports fans out there,  the change of the season brings new games. Could you imagine watching football or baseball all year long? I know you real die hards will say, “Yes!” However, for the majority of us, it’s  fun to start a new season of football, baseball, basketball, or golf.
If you really stop to think about it, the change of each season  offers a beauty all its own, just like you and I are different. The seasons, I think, are given for our pleasure and enjoyment.
Take the opportunity to go for a drive or walk, the colors of fall in Minnesota are all around us.
