Saints Sports Calendar for the week

The Saints played at New Ulm on Thursday and beat the Eagles 4-3. In singles, Connor Olson at one and Brock Mueller at three lost, but John Foss at two and Kilian Wehde at four clipped the wings of their Eagles opponents.

The two new members were voted into the council by the elected officials, Council Member Nick Mathistad, Council Member Doug Meyer and Mayor Ken Pankratz. Warwick was selected into the council unanimously, but Madson received one ‘no’ vote from Council Member Mathistad.

The St. James A’s opened their home season on Mother’s Day with an impressive 4-0 win over the Hanska Lakers. Two crafty veterans faced off on the mound as the A’s David Krause squared off against the Lakers’ Dayton Larson.

To gain entry into this distinguished ranking, Citizens demonstrated exemplary performance of balancing risk and reward based on the bank’s S&B Total Risk/Return Composite Ranking.

The reason for so many road games was that some of the games postponed earlier in the season were made up as double headers. The Saints played doubleheaders at St. Peter and Waseca, played three tournament games at JCC and capped off the week against defending state champ New Ulm.

The WCEA Membership Drive closed Sunday with a full house sale. No more memberships are able to be sold.The membership drive took place from April 11 to April 28. Members of the WCEA wanted to thank everyone for their support during this year’s membership drive.

I left on Friday, April 26. It was going to be a trip of 380 miles through farm country. One of the things I was interested in seeing was what was going on in the farm fields south and east of us.

Upon graduating from college and completing the ROTC program, the cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air Force. The St. James High School Prom celebration will take place this Saturday May 4.The event is taking place at the St. James High school gym. Grand March begins at 8 p.m. and the theme of the night is “Welcome to Pandora.” Admission for the public is three dollars.

The compost fee is one dollar per day or a 12 punch card can be purchased for $10. The week of May 6 through May 10 the compost site will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

From Thursday through Tuesday a total of 23 team events were canceled. The tennis team had a match canceled on Thursday, rescheduled the match for Tuesday and had it canceled again.
