Every now and then, 43 years ago exhibits its impact all over again.Every now and then, the fruits of Title IX demonstrate their importance for womenís sports in the United States.Take a certain soccer match in Montreal on Tuesday.America has advanced its womenís national team to a World Cup final, something that should only be considered big news nationally when it doesnít happen. Amazingly, it hasnít three times since 1991.

The St. James 16/18 youth softball team lost a nailbiter Tuesday evening, falling to Worthington Neuberger 7-6 after a run scored in the top of the seventh to break the tie. However, they responded in game two, winning 13-10.
