It came down to the wire against Canby Thursday. St. James Area led by as much as 19, but a late run by Canby gave the visitors a five-point lead. The Saints needed a pin from their heavy weight, and Noah Sandmeyer delivered one in the final minute against Josh Hansen to put Canby away 35-34.

Saturday, SJA wrestled in Luverne as part of the Big South Conference Tournament, and took on two squads, Windom/Mt. Lake, who the Saints beat 60-20, and host Luverne, who got a close 35-33 victory.
