The Saints spent the weekend away from home for the two-day Redwood River Riot wrestling tournament. After day one, St. James was in 15th place, middle of the extremely competitive pack, with Mario Garcia, Jesus Vidales, Max Svalland, Josh Stordalen, Jesse Carlson and Chris Johnson all qualifying for day two matches.

The St. James Area girls basketball team played their second home contest of the season Friday night and lost to the New Ulm Eagles 52-34. On the road, the boys also lost in New Ulm, 61-52.

The Saints competed in a triangular in St. Peter and went 1-1, beating St. Peter 39-30 but losing to Waconia quite handedly, 69-6.

The Saints were home against Norwood-Young America on Tuesday, and the team won by a score of 45 to 22. The Saint's star of the night was Chris Johnson, who defeated Alex Ferrell via fall in eight seconds in weight class 195 pounds.
