A resolution was passed by Commissioners renewing the county’s local share of cost for the “Take Me There”(TMT) transportation system provided for residents of Watonwan County. The agreement with the State of Minnesota states that Watonwan County will provide a local share of 15% of the total operating cost and 20% of the total capital costs.
A Zoning Public Hearing is scheduled for tonight (August 5th) to discuss building a grain storage building for the Crystal Valley Cooperative. This informational meeting is at 7:00 at the Resource Center of the Extension Office.
Training requests were approved for the following three county employees: Marjorie R. Smith, Transit Director, for State Conference; LaMar Piper, County Attorney, Regional Risk Management; and Julie A. Peterson, Emergency Management Director, for 50th Annual AMEM Fall Training Conference.
The terms for the South Central Minnesota Multi County HRA Board expire September 28, 2010. Commissioners Dwayne Krenz and Scott Sanders volunteered to continue on this board. For Sanders, the appointment is pending his re-election efforts this fall.
An Absentee Ballot Board was formed Tuesday to ensure every vote is counted accurately this election season. The county ensures uniformity in accepting or rejecting votes as well as providing a sufficient number of election judges. See more in the August 5 Plaindealer.
