After a short tour of the Water Treatment Plant, City council members returned to the St. James Community building on Tuesday evening, August 3, 2010, and wasted no time in tackling the bi-weekly agenda.
Economic Development Director, Molly Westman, presented a request to council members to establish loan policy guidelines for a Small Cities Development Grant. A public meeting will be held on August 16th at the City library for all those interested in applying for the rehabilitation funds. There are three categories of loans available: Owner-Occupied residential homes, Rental Rehabs and Commercial. The entire city is included in the target area. Funds are available for an assortment of rehab projects both exterior and interior. The terms for all three categories is very favorable for the borrower and the city hopes to attract many interested applicants. Read more in the August 5 Plaindealer.
