As part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebration at Pleasant View, the facility has raised the funds for 50 televisions in 50 resident rooms, and the facility honored donors during a luncheon Tuesday. The activity director at Pleasant View, which is part of the sprawling Good Samaritan Society of St. James, is Marlys Boeve, and she said she felt the project would make for an excellent piece of the facility's 50th anniversary bonanza. Prior to the addition of these 50 TV's, families needed to provide sets for residents when they moved into the building. Purchase and installation for each of the flat-screen TV's was $500, and the project took about a year to complete. For the complete story, including thoughts from some of those who donated to purchase TV's, please see this week's print edition of the St. James Plaindealer.
