RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - Howard L. Humbles, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on January 15th, 2022 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

ST. JAMES - Germaine Grove Knickrehm Rust of St. James passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato on February 7, 2022. Services for Germaine will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. James with Pastor Martin Lopahs officiating. Lanny Leverne Overson, aged 77, beloved husband of Emma, passed away peacefully Monday evening, February 21, 2022. His final months were spent surrounded by the family and friends he loved so much as he valiantly battled brain cancer.

TRUMAN - Marjorie B. Vogt, age 89 of Truman, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 28 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. A time for visitation will be held from 9-10:30am, prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Alberta (Bobbie as she was known by all who loved her) Mable (Mogensen) Elvin was born May 26, 1929 in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, Rural Ceylon, MN to Floyd and Caroline (Bassett) Mogensen. She was received into God’s Kingdom thru Holy Baptism in March of 1939 at the Kansas Lake Lutheran Church in rural St. James, MN. She was married to Walter Eugene Elvin in St. James, MN on March 17, 1949. Together they moved to Worthington, MN in 1950 and settled there for the remainder of their lives together. This union was blessed with five daughters: Sandra, Wanda, Lois, Vida and Arlene.

Jerome Becker, age 84 of Truman, MN passed away Wednesday Feb 16, 2022, at Mayo Health Systems, Mankato. Services will be held Monday Feb 21st, 10am at St. John’s Lutheran Church South Branch. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb 20th, 4-7pm at Zaharia Funeral Home, Truman.

WILMINGTON, NC - Charles Michael Gaines died on January 7, 2022 in Wilmington, NC. Mike was born on November 17, 1939 in Olla, Louisiana to the late Cleo Harris Gaines Hinton and the late Charles Rogers Gaines. Following his graduation from LaSalle High School in 1957, he attended the Citadel in Charleston, SC before being graduated from Northwestern Louisiana State College in Natchitoches, LA in 1961. Mike met and married his wife Alice Lillian Voss in 1967 while working in her native Minnesota and from there, they embarked upon life’s journeys together. He worked for decades as a salesman for a variety of companies in multiple locations including St. Paul, MN; Detroit, MI; Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC and finally Greensboro, NC where he was a founding partner of Tarheel Paper and Supply Company in 1980. He worked at Tarheel until his retirement.
