The St. James Girls Tennis team faced off in a tough match on Tuesday against River Valley where they pulled off a 4- 3 team win.
River Valley went with the strategy of putting all of their top players in single matches in order to try to sweep to pick up 4 team points. In the number 1 singles match senior Hanna Himmesman from River Valley defeat- ed 9th grader Ellie Becker from St. James. In the number 2 singles 12th grader Breana Serigz for River Valley defeated senior Clare Lepp. In the number three singles 10th grader Luci Lukseth from St. James was defeated by 12th grader Lavew Kilin. In the number 4 singles 8th grader Jaelyn Haler from St. James defeated Kessie Domsize putting a monkey wrench in River Valley’s strategy.
On the doubles side St. James was nothing but dominate winning all three matches. 11th grad- er Renata Hernandez and Hannah Loewen were victorious in the number 1 doubles match winning 6-0 in both sets. In number 2 doubles 12th grader Abby Bright and 11th grader Miranda Tetzloff won their match going 6- 0 in both sets. In the number 3 doubles 9th grader Gabby Trapero and 12th grader Lydia Sargent were victorious winning 6-1 and 6-0.
