Luella Angeline Romsdahl was born on Nov. 16, 1927 to John and Sylvia (Brokaw) Wickert in Lebanon, South Dakota.  She graduated from Ceylon High School in 1944. On April 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to Rollin Romsdahl in Sherburn. Rollin and Lou lived in Long Lake Township where Rollin farmed until his retirement. Lou was employed at Triumph State Bank in Trimont, and then at Odin State Bank in Odin. She was an active member of the St. James Catholic Church and later at Long Lake Lutheran Church. Lou was a wonderful cook and baker. She was smart, witty, and incredibly capable of so many things.  Lou took pride in  her yard and spent hours tending her flowers and lawn.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was often lovingly referred to as “Farm Grandma.”  Tales of Rollin and Lou’s outings with Stan and Peg Langeland were always humorously shared and, of course, there were more enjoyable times at the neighborhood card club gatherings. Lou was adored by all of her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and anyone who met her.  She was a natural caregiver and took care of many.

Lou is survived by her daughter, Vonnie (Chris) Erickson of Mesa, Ariz; son, Warren (Roxanne) Romsdahl of St. James; seven grandchildren: Steph Smith, Angie Smith, Marnie Smith, Tasha (Josh) Schiffler, Nevada (Kelly) Romsdahl, Natalie (Justin) Boehne and Nick (Alysha) Romsdahl; ten great-grandchildren: Josie, Dillion, Dustin, Olivia, Amelia, Mason, River, Davis, Dahlia, and Chase; brother-in-laws: Harold “Buddy” Romsdahl of Mountain Lake, Kenneth (Judy) Romsdahl of rural St. James, and Dick (Jane) Romsdahl of Colo; special niece, Karen Ellingsberg of Shakopee, and other relatives and friends. Lou was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne, husband, Rollin; two brothers, four sisters; and other relatives and friends.
