Nancy K. Kruse, 71, of rural Odin

Nancy K. Kruse, 71, of rural Odin, was called to her eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 7, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health Services Hospital in St. James, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont. A Celebration of Life Service for Nancy will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct.15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Trimont with Rev. John A. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Long Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family on line at

Nancy Kay Hagen was born Jan. 28, 1947 to Vernon and Muriel (Olson) Hagen in Fairmont. She was baptized and confirmed at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural St. James. She attended elementary school in Ormsby and graduated from St. James High School in 1965. After high school she worked at the Ormsby State Bank. Nancy married Allan Kruse on March 10, 1968 at Long Lake Lutheran Church. They farmed and raised their four daughters by Fish Lake in rural Odin. She later did daycare in her home for her niece and nephew, Erin and Brian and eventually for her grandchildren Jacob and Katie. Nancy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, since her marriage. She was a member of the Friendship Club and in the past taught Sunday School and VBS. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, crocheting and attending her grandchildren’s events. She was always up for a trip or adventure, going with almost every time she was asked.

Nancy is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Stacy (Cory) Ebeling of rural Trimont, Laura (Dan) Addabbo of Newnan, Ga., Melissa Kruse of Burnsville, and Amber (Joe) Ayers of New Richmond, Wis.; sisters: LeeAnn (Doug) Nibbe of rural St. James, Kari (David) Lorenz of Elk River; brother, Larry Hagen of Fairmont; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hillmer of Fairmont, and Billye Jane Kruse of rural Ormsby, several aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, grandson, Daniel Addabbo, parents, parents-in-law, Harold (Alice) Kruse, brothers-in-law, Robert and Joel Kruse and other relatives.
