Addie Bowers earned the victory in the first half of a double-header on Tuesday.

On Tuesday night, the James Gang 16U roster split a doubleheader against a shorthanded Worthington team, taking the first game 5-2 before falling 2-0 in the finale.

Addie Bowers got the start in game 1 for the James Gang and didn't allow a run until the top of the sixth.

The James Gang bats fired up early, with Jaelyn Haler leading off the bottom of the first with a single. Haler scored on a Worthington error for the first run of the game. Bowers doubled to left-center to score Kelsey Grunewald. Sam Tetzloff drove in the James Gang ace with a single up the middle.

Up 3-0 heading into the bottom of the third, the James Gang plated two more on the strength of a Haler single to score Ellie Becker.

A single off the bat of Taylor Sodeman in the bottom of the fourth scored Maddie Brey, providing some more insurance St. James.

In game two, the James Gang couldn't scrape any runs across, falling 2-0. Worthington struck for a run in the bottom of the second and the bottom of the fourth.

The James Gang stranded a pair of runners on base in the second, third, and fourth innings.

After a 1-2-3 fifth, Bowers led off the sixth with a single to center.

Following a popout and a strikeout, Mackenzie Christensen singled to center to put the tying run on base, but the rally fell short as Haler struck out to end the game.
