Emergency triangles
Question: Sometimes while I am traveling, I’ve noticed a set of reflective triangles out behind a semi? Can I use those on my personal passenger car if it were to break down? Any advice is appreciated.

Journalists have dreams
Every journalist has dreams and aspirations for their career. Having started my career in college, I had some small dreams, two of them being an editor at St. Cloud State’s University Chronicle newspaper, the other one was writing an article that was good enough to make it to the Minnesota Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Contest.

Jerome Becker
Jerome Becker, age 84 of Truman, MN passed away Wednesday Feb 16, 2022, at Mayo Health Systems, Mankato. Services will be held Monday Feb 21st, 10am at St. John’s Lutheran Church South Branch. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb 20th, 4-7pm at Zaharia Funeral Home, Truman.

Alberta Mable (Mogensen) Elvin
Alberta (Bobbie as she was known by all who loved her) Mable (Mogensen) Elvin was born May 26, 1929 in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, Rural Ceylon, MN to Floyd and Caroline (Bassett) Mogensen. She was received into God’s Kingdom thru Holy Baptism in March of 1939 at the Kansas Lake Lutheran Church in rural St. James, MN. She was married to Walter Eugene Elvin in St. James, MN on March 17, 1949. Together they moved to Worthington, MN in 1950 and settled there for the remainder of their lives together. This union was blessed with five daughters: Sandra, Wanda, Lois, Vida and Arlene.
Community Health Improvement Plan update
Watonwan County Public Health, community members, and Statewide Health Improvement Partnership staff worked together to create and work on the Community Health Improvement Plan. CHIP is a long-range systematic effort used to address the health of all Watonwan County residents.
St. James City Council met last Tuesday
The St. James City Council held its meeting last Tuesday. During the meeting members heard from Adam Jacobs from Bolton & Menk about the Second St. South Project, they also went over a request sent in to purchase the old St. James airport land.

Women of Today deliver Valentine’s Day cupcakes

Christians can seek to deal with anger in a way that cares for others
OK, another thing to blame on the pandemic — increased frustration and anger. We hear of unruly passengers, impatient customers, and “I’m not going to take it anymore” citizens.

St. James hosts gymnastics 2A section tournament
On Feb. 10, the Saint James Saints gymnastics performed for the last time this season at the Section 2A tournament hosted in their home gym. They were joined by the other 7 teams in the section, New Ulm, Martain County Area, Blue Earth Area, Mankato West, Fairbault,Waseca, and St. Peter. All teams performed at their best and was a fun and energetic meet to participate in and watch! End of the night team totals had St. James in 8th with a 102.4, 7th Fairbault with a 102.625, 6th Martain County Area with a 125.3, 5th Blue Earth with 128.3, 4th Waseca with 130.85, 3rd New Ulm Area with 136.775, 2nd St. Peter with 139.5, and 1st place and advancing to the state tournament was Mankato West with a 146.95.
