FFA PEP RALLY
On Thursday, St. James High School held a pep fest for the 18 FFA members who went to State this weekend.

First outdoor meet ends in boys taking first
For the first time this season the Saints track team was able to compete outside on a track. Before this they have competed at two indoor meets, with both teams have members place in a few events.

Ask a Trooper
Question: I’ve noticed you use the word “crash” and not the word “accident” when talking about incidents while on the radio, TV, and the newspaper. Why is that? Answer: I’d be glad to talk about this as I am passionate about this topic and it is certainly intentional.

Winds oh my
One would think living down here in Southern Minnesota for almost a year I would have gotten used to the high winds that come through the area. Answer to that question is a strong no! Winds down here compared to Northern Minnesota is crazy different.

Local volunteers recognized during volunteer appreciation
April 17 through April 23 is Volunteer Appreciation Week. Watonwan County 4-H, Watonwan County Food Shelf, St. James Volunteer Ambulance are a few volunteer organizations who want to recognize and celebrate the impact volunteers make to those they help.

Peep diorama Peeps in Paradise!
Brenna Oldenburg was the top vote winner for the St. James Library Peep Diorama contest with her Peep diorama Peeps in Paradise! The prize was a movie pass, medium popcorn and large pop from the Princess Theater. The prizes were provided by the Friends of the St. James Library. Shirley Coleman
St. James and Butterfield-Odin Public Schools to provide Summer Food Service Program
The St. James and Butterfield Public Schools are participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and meet nutritional standards established by the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA).
New Life and Community
As Christians rejoice and celebrate the new life of Jesus’ resurrection, I ponder what this new life looks like in us. One dimension I would lift up is this … the new life in Christ shows up in being joined to Jesus and to others. Sin separates, salvation unites.
