Robert “Bryce” Bregel
Robert “Bryce” Bregel was born on August 28, 1954, to Charles and Valerie (Shaw) Bregel in Sleepy Eye. Bryce was one of 10 children, and as a child, his family moved around frequently.

Germaine Rust, 89, passed away on February 7, 2022. Services will be 2 p.m.

Track Coach Leads Team Into New Territory
With major structural changes in the MSHSL track and field format for 2022, different planning and preparation for postseason is in order. Head Coach Scott Allen is optimistic that the changes will benefit the St. James Area student-athletes.
Qualifying Meet on the Horizon After Fairmont Meet
St. James Area track athletes tuned up for the upcoming Section 2A North Subsection meet in Mapleton on May 26th with a quadrangular meet at Fairmont on May 17th.
Bowers Blanks Fairmont in Five Innings
A half dozen Saints, led by Eva Romsdahl, collected multiple hits in a short amount of time on a road trip to Fairmont on May 20th. Jaelyn Haler also knocked out three hits and piled up three runs batted in while Addie Bowers recorded the complete game shutout no-hitter with thirteen strikeouts, ending the game one batter short of a perfect game.
Christensen’s Batting Keys Home Victory Over Buccaneers
Mackenzie Christensen collected three hits and drove in five runs for St. James Area in a 10-0 five-inning win over Blue Earth Area on May 19th. Pitching credit went to Addie Bowers with the complete game shutout that included ten strikeouts and one walk and two hits.
Saints lose in first round of Section 2A team tournament
In the last week the Saints boys tennis team saw the section 2A team tournament and some more regular season play with a weekend tournament. Last Tuesday the Saints played a strong meet against Fairmont taking it 6-1.
