Railroad historians converge on Mankato May 19-22
More than 100 members of the Chicago & North Western Historical Society will gather in Mankato, May 19-22, for the society’s first in-person annual convention since 2019. The four-day event, “Rails & Rivers – Mankato 2022,” takes place at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza, in downtown Mankato.

Saints match strong competition at 67th Annual Sentinel Relays
On May 6th the St. James track teams couple ideal weather with strong competition to chalk up outstanding efforts. It was the 67th Annual Sentinel Relays at Bob Bonk Track, named after the Fairmont coach who has dedicated nearly a half century to the Cardinal track and cross country programs. “The Sentinel Relays gave us the toughest competition we have had to date,” said Head Coach Scott Allen. “Our kids stepped up and performed well with many personal records.”

Saints Fall Short With Rally In High-Scoring Affair Against Blue Earth Area
St. James Area was able to get the bats going in a 14-11 loss against BEA after being shut out through a doubleheader the previous day in Luverne. The Saints pulled ahead 8-3 in the top of the 3rd inning but the home team notched seven runs in the bottom of the frame on the way to victory. Hunter Stevens and Sonny Heil led the offensive charge, each pushing three runs across and collecting two hits.
Solid efforts come up short at Luverne
A doubleheader May 5th doubleheader did not yield any runs but the Saints hung tough in the opener and threatened repeatedly in the nightcap, losing 6-0 and 7-0 at Redbird Field in Luverne. St. James kicked off a stretch of five games in six days with the roadtrip.

Saints Tennis on winning streak
This season the Saints have been on a winning streak since their first and only loss so far this season which was at the beginning of March when they lost 1-6 to New Ulm. Since then they have been unbeatable, until this past week when Luverne came to St. James.

May seems to be the month of Facebook memories for me. If you have Facebook you know what I am talking about. For those of you who might not know what I am talking about Facebook has this feature where it looks back each day on what you posted or were tagged in they call these memories. Fitting I know.
