The 55th annual Steam and Gas Engine Show, less formally called the Threshing Bee—or just the Bee, held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-21 at Voss Park in Butterfield was another successful event, organized by the Butterfield Threshermen’s Association.

St. James cross country coach takes award in stride
St. James Area cross country coach Kari Miest recently learned she was named as 2022 State Assistant Coach of the Year. She will accept her award on Oct. 8. The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association will recognize Miest and other awardees during a ceremony in Minnetonka.

Fighting Saints Football season kicks off Friday
St. James Area will travel to Sherburn on Friday, Sept. 2 for the season opener against the Martin County West Mavericks with a 7 p.m. start time. The Saints geared up for live action with a scrimmage on Saturday morning, Aug. 27, at Winthrop.

Cross Country races into season, looks ahead to Mt. Lake Meet
