St. James Hosts Section 2A Gymnastics Tournament
Eight teams gathered at St. James High School on February 16th in hopes of qualifying as a team and also via individual events. St. James Area placed 7th overall with Katelyn Ojeda leading the way for the home team.

What are you looking forward to?
Around this time of year what makes you excited, and you just can’t help but count down the days for? Some may say the first sunny stretch of days or the last snow fall. Yes, those are on my list, I mean you can’t wait for those days especially after a winter like we had this winter. Besides those, the top thing I can’t wait for is girl scout cookies. It’s not just a day it’s a good deal of time a person can enjoy them.
A Rare Occurrence Times Two
Only one month ends at 28 days, or at least three out of every four years. For that reason, February 28th is designated as Rare Disease Day and as odd as it may sound, 300,000,000 people are impacted by rare diseases.
Southwestern Minnesota Workforce Development Scholarship Program
St. Paul – State Representative Marj Fogelman (R-Fulda) is co-authoring legislation that’s designed to find good paying, in-demand jobs for southwestern Minnesota’s students.

Nathan “Nate” Thomas Nelson was a loving father, brother, son, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly at Fairview University Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, following a battle with bile duct cancer surrounded by loved ones.

Butterfield City Council appoints Le Schlomann as Mayor
Butterfield City Council met for its monthly meeting on Feb. 15. The meeting started with an update on how the lake is doing with the aeration. The aerator facing north during the last storm iced up and is now flipped over.
