Cardinals Sweep St. James Area Basketball Doubleheader
SJA basketball fans all headed west as both varsity Saints teams played at Luverne on February 3rd with the host team winning the girls game 55-40 and 88-77 in the boys contest. The leadoff game matched the Saints girls with the Section frontrunner and a low scoring affair settled at 25-21 in favor of Luverne when halftime hit.
New Trustee Appointed on 4-H A. R. Voss Trust Fund
On February 1st, 2023 at 9:30 am ‘Dock’ Durheim was appointed by the court as the new trustee to the 4-H AR Trust Fund and took the place of Dale Busch who has served as a trustee since the 1980’s. Dale has served as President of the Board of Directors and a trustee over the years and has played a huge part in ensuring the longevity of this fund with other trustees. Dock will now serve on the committee with other trustee Sharon Moody to ensure the funds are used for their intended purposes. 4-H staff is sad to see Dale step down, but thank him for his years of service and all he has done for the local 4-H program. They are excited to have Dock appointed and know he will continue the great work that has been done.

Knowledge Bowl places 5th at LCWM Invitational
James Senior High Knowledge Bowl team placed 5th out of 30 teams in today’s LCWM Invitational in Mankato. There were 9 schools competing.

6 Watonwan County youth awarded Arts Scholarships
The Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council is pleased to announce that 121 Youth Scholarships of $30,800 have been awarded to students in grades 7-12 and 3-6 throughout the region. Youth Scholarship recipients live in twenty- one different communities representing seven counties.

Regenerative Health Clinic
St. James EDA Business Spotlight for January is Regenerative Health Clinic. Dr. Craig Hartman is the owner of the new clinic in St. James, he ahs been a practicing chiropractor for 32 years. Hartman has a masters degree in human nutrition and is certified in acupuncture.

Artist of the Week: I Love to Read special
Fifth grader Aubrey Solheid designed the t-shirts for I LOVE TO READ MONTH . The theme is Dinosaurs -Stomp Chomp Read. Over 250 shirts were purchased. Students are encouraged to wear the shirts on T-Shirt Tuesdays during the month of February. Congratulations Aubrey!
