The Long Way Home
This week’s Plaindealer includes news of the recent hire for St. James Public Schools Activities Administrator. Jared Schwanz took nearly twenty years to complete the trip but he is making his way back home. The long way is most likely the best way in this case.

Pitcher’s Duel Goes SJA’s Way at Blue Earth
Addie Bowers was up to the task as the St. James Saints took a 2-1 decision at Blue Earth on April 17th. Neither pitcher gave up an earned run, Bowers striking out 11, walking one, and giving up a pair of hits over the course of the complete game.
Kern Brothers Score for SJA Tennis
A rematch with the St. Peter Saints on April 18th ended 5-2 in favor of the home team as the visiting St. James Area squad picked up wins at #2 and #4 singles by Brennan and Quinton Kern respectively.

St. James Salutators went to three local businesses to recognize their remove, change of ownership and welcome one to the community.

“If You Give A Moose A Muffin” is a children’s book that is difficult to forget as the rhythm and rhyme pour forth the lessons within. Those who haven’t read it, here’s the gist of it. One thing leads to another and in the end, it all swings back to begin again. It’s life application through the eyes of a child.

Senior Citizen Spotlight
My interview this month is with Jolene (Karau) and Eldon Wright. Both came from large families, Jolene had nine in her family and Eldon had seven in his.
School Board approved Jared Schwanz as the new Activities Administrator
St. James School Board had its meeting Monday night. The meeting started with the board approving new hires, a part of the new hire group was Jared Schwanz who was hired as the new Activities Administrator. He will be taking over in July once Les Zellman retires. It was asked if Schwanz will be a full-time AA, Superintendent Steve Heil answered that he will be full-time with the new addition of soccer and the rest of the sports taking up his time.
