Saints Boost Record to 10-2 With Caswell Tourney Trophy
Making for their 7th win in five days, St. James Area used timely hitting, strong pitching, and a near-perfect defense to win the Caswell Tournament championship on April 29th. Despite chilly weather, the Saints stayed hot with wins over Central, St. Cloud Cathedral, and Springfield.
Weather Is Lone Opponent to Halt Saints in Home Tourney
The St. James tennis complex entertained teams from hours away on Saturday, April 29th.
Saints Run to Track and Field Championship at New Ulm
The St. James Area track teams competed in a six-team track meet at New Ulm High School on April 27th and the boys’ team ended the night in 1st place.
Strong Competition Pushes SJA Runners to Best Efforts
Hosting a track meet on April 25th, the Saints teams battled solid competition and also fatigue as they build towards important meets in the future. Both the boys and girls teams were able to win several events against Worthington, Fairmont, and Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey.
Friendly Confines Result in 7-0 Victory Over Fairmont
The Big South Conference match-up with the Cardinals was all St. James Area throughout but especially in singles play where the Saints posted a trip of 6-0, 6-0 results.
Saints Softball Owns Doubleheader at Luverne
A road trip to Luverne on April 27th proved worth the effort as St. James Area rolled to wins of 5-1 and 10-0. Taylor Sodeman’s 2-3 batting performance with a pair of runs batted in fueled the opener and Lunden Swanson duplicated the stats to lead the nightcap.
Tigers Hang a Home Loss on Saints
Belle Plaine came to town on May 1st and made quick work of a Section 2AA showdown with a 12-0 win in five innings. Laney Bowers, Madelyn Malmgren, Lunden Swanson, and Emma Mohwinkel had one hit apiece for the Saints.
