Beatitudes in the pew

It was the turn of the head that caught my eye as the little girl in the pew just ahead reached for her mama’s face. Turn the mama did—smiling at the child in the pew. She beheld the face of her child, and attentive to it she was. Gentle this mama was with her child desiring her attention.

Visual art is as limitless as the human imagination, seen with the eyes but felt in the bones, speaks to the mind but beats with a heart. School board hears ways students are learning to read at Northside

The St. James school board held its meeting this month on Monday, Feb 10. Northside Principal Liam Dawson and Literacy Lead Michele Chapin presented the science of reading to review what helps students learn to read based on science and studies done. They discussed how each curriculum teachers have been training on, like LETRS, Wit and Wisdom, and UFLI have been working with the areas of reading to help students.
