Humility
Among the counter-cultural virtues that Christian faith lifts up is humility. There are places in our society where humility is forgotten amid the splendor of the brash and self-important person. But in our daily lives, our culture frequently recognizes the benefit of humility in getting along, playing together, working together, and having good relationships.

Thank you and signing off as editor
Many of you may have heard over the past week that I am leaving the Plaindealer. It is true, this paper will be the last full paper I put together as the Editor of the St. James Plaindealer. You will see my name on a few of the articles in next week’s paper as I am helping create it during my last few days.


Watonwan County 4-H Pollinator Ambassadors Receive the State AMC 4-H Community Leadership Award
The Watonwan County 4-H Pollinator Ambassadors were recognized as one of two groups in Minnesota to receive the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) 4-H Community Youth Leadership Award. The group attended the AMC Luncheon in St. Paul on February 27, where members Haidyn Robertson and Mariella Sill gave a presentation on their project, the “Meadowlark Prairies Pollinator Pathway.” In addition to receiving a plaque, the group was awarded $500 to further support their project.

Dip into watercolors with a new community education class
Art has a way of making people feel certain emotions or feelings like happiness and home for example. Caroline Porter an artist from Fairmont will be offering a watercolor class in St. James through Community Education on March 25. She has been creating art that has given her the feeling of being home for as long as she can remember.

Strong winds blows dock 50 feet
Watonwan County, especially St. James, experienced extreme winds on Friday, Feb. 28. The National Weather Service said Watonwan County experienced gusts in the 50 to 60 MPH range. In the early afternoon, Watonwan County experienced strong winds that caused trees to lose branches and unsecured objects to be blown around.
