Don’t take a vacation from worship
We’ve turned the pages — or swiped the screens — to the month of June on our calendars. The hallways of our schools are quiet, and kids are enjoying the early days of their break. Bare tree branches are dressed again with splendid shades of green. Anglers are casting lines from the docks around St. James Lake. The aroma of backyard grilling fills the air. Lawn mowers have been pushed or driven out of their winter resting places and are in use again. These are just a few of the signs that summer has begun!

Voting for a new food shelf name
Watonwan County Food Shelf held a block party for members of the community June 17, showcasing a major change.

Record set in Rail Run
A warm setting did not keep runners away or records from being broken during the 2025 Rail Run June 19 by the old depot at St. James Lake. Events included the half-mile run, mile run and the four-mile run or walk.

St. James High School/Middle School Honor Rolls
Following is the Trimester III Honor Roll for St. James High School and Middle School. Students whose grade point average was 3.667-4.0 were named to the A Honor Roll, and the B Honor Roll is for those who had a GPA of 3.0-3.666.
St. James students among online school’s Class of 2025
Two St. James students were among the 795 seniors from communities across Minnesota who received high school diplomas as members of Minnesota Connections Academy’s Class of 2025. The tuition-free, public online school recently recognized graduates during a traditional, in-person commencement ceremony June 7 at the Minneapolis Convention Center on June 7.
