Arlene Dorothy Henslin, 87, of Madelia died on May 12, 2022, at Living Meadows at Luther, in Madelia.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Willow Creek.

Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Willow Creek on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11 a.m.

The clergy will be Pastor John Bennett. Interment will be at the Willow Creek Cemetery in Lewisville.

Arlene Dorothy (Zarn) Henslin was born on March 29, 1935 to Reinhardt and Gertrude (Urban) Zarn at Pleasant Mound Township, Willow Creek. She was received into God’s family through Infant Baptism at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Willow Creek) on April 21, 1935. She renewed her Baptismal Vows on April 10, 1949. Arlene attended St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School at Willow Creek. She graduated from Amboy High School in 1953. On March 10, 1957 Arlene was united in marriage to Donald Henslin at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Willow Creek). After their marriage, they settled in St. James and eventually on the original family farm. They were blessed with four children. Arlene and her husband Don managed the Marigold/Kemps Dairy, servicing the greater St. James area from 1964 to 1979. She also worked in the office at Cunningham Implement in St. James. The summer of 1981, they moved to the original Henslin family farm and enjoyed many years of farming until retiring. Arlene truly loved her Savior and wanted to do the Lord’s will. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking and baking for her family, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald and infant son Gary. She is survived by daughter Sandy (Lee) Houghton, daughter Sharon (Les) Putikka, daughter Karen (Brad) Ahrenstorff, six grandchildren Ryan Rucktaeschel (fiancé Trudy Voegele), Raja (Dwight) Brandt, Nick (Shannon) Putikka, Alex (Melissa) Putikka, Kelly (Jim) Othoudt, Katie (Zak) Brockberg, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
