With Snow Comes Snow Emergencies

With it being December now, we continue to have the potential for more snow, and with that comes the possibility of a Snow Emergency being put into effect. It is important to get our city streets cleared from snow as soon as possible to prevent the buildup of snow and ice on the city streets. I would like to remind our citizens of the following regarding snow emergencies.

Honor Ferrazzano sentenced three individuals

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, three individuals were sentenced to prison terms by the Hon. Stephen J. Ferrazzano in Watonwan County: Jeffrey Wayne Glienke was sentenced to 24 months in prison after being convicted of Felony 5th Degree Controlled Substance. He received 22 days of jail credit for time already served.

Top Tier Finish Starts Season for Saints Wrestling

The Paul Krueger Classic on December 3rd included eight teams competing in an individual format with St. James Area placing 3rd overall. Kollin Anderson and Julio Esqueda both placed 2nd in their weight divisions to lead the points for the Saints.

What it takes

In America, every four years the word “football” is surprisingly unclear. Americans know the word “football” to mean a sport played with an oblong ball and very little foot. In the rest of the world, the word “football” refers to a sport that is played almost exclusively with a foot. Hence the name of the sport. Why do Americans refer to this sport as soccer? Because the word football was already taken by a sport largely independent of the foot. Go figure.

Nursing strike avoided

Minnesota Nursing Association and a group of Minnesota’s larger hospitals, Essentia Health, Fairview, and Allina are three of the hospital involved with the possible agreement. Nurses at said hospitals were threatening to strike over wages and work environments.
