Present: Jim Branstad, Dillon Melheim, Bill Miller, Jim Pettersen and Bob Rinne. Opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minnesota State Mankato to Waive New Undergraduate Student Application Fees in October
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato is participating in “Minnesota State Month” and, as part of this statewide effort, will waive its $20 application fee for new undergraduate students who apply for admission during the month of October.
Madelia Health Foundation Awards Grants

Madelia, MN - Each year, the Madelia Health Foundation awards two internal grant requests as part of our Ask for Anything Grant round. These grants allow Madelia Health departments to submit applications for a piece of equipment or training that directly improves patient experience and demonstrates how the request can make the department better caregivers. The Madelia Health leadership team reviews and votes on the grant applications and two various departments are selected to receive funding for their grant request.
Tennis Team Tunes up For Sections as #1 Seed
St. James Area hosted their final tournament of the regular season on Saturday, October 1st with St. Peter, Maple River, and Le-Sueur-Henderson competing. The Section tournament began this week and the Saints received a bye, courtesy of being the top seed.
Saints Rally From Big Deficit in 40-14 Setback at Springfield
Unplanned changes, fueled by injuries, stalled the offense as the Saints dropped to 0-5 on the 2022 season with a 40-14 loss at Springfield on September 30th. The Saints scored the final two touchdowns and look to build on the momentum moving forward.
Wings United Girls Soccer Closes Out First Campaign

Recent soccer matchups with Worthington and Fairmont on consecutive days challenged Wings United. The first score ended at 5-0 and Fairmont came away with a 6-0 victory.
Cross Country Events Center on Youth Levels as Varsity Marches Towards Sections

Runners from St. James Area have proven to be among the best in Section 2A, taking a break before making a run at the Section Meet later this month. The past week saw races conducted for both junior high and lower grades.
Volleyball Fortunes Hit a Skid Against Trio of League Opponents
On October 4th the St. James Area volleyball team rallied to a 2527 score in the final set but dropped the match at Fairmont in straight sets. The week featured a pair of similar outcomes against Jackson County Central and Luverne.
Playoffs Approach for Wings United Boys Soccer, Improvement is Clear

The initial season for the St. James/Windom Wings United boys soccer program includes many highlights, including a 7-1 victory over Triton on Tuesday, October 4th. The recent schedule has been loaded as the team prepares for their first taste of the postseason.
