The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds everyone, “The placing of snow on or near a public road creates hazards, including drainage problems, drifting, sight obstruction and unsafe access.

MnDOT seeks applicants for rail service improvement program grants

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Railroads, rail shippers, cities and counties are encouraged to apply for up to $6.5 million in available grants for projects that will improve freight rail service that supports economic development, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced today. The funding is available through the 2022 Minnesota Rail Service Improvement Program. Applications are due March 1.

Wild-card weekend winners, losers

Since expanding its playoff field to 14 teams a year ago, the NFL has taken to calling the opening round “Super Wild Card Weekend.” But was it? Really? Aside from the San Francisco 49ers’ 23-17 upset of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon – easily the game of the weekend given the score, outcome, national profile of both teams and way it ended – it was largely a pretty forgettable serving of football, three of the five games quickly devolving into blowouts.
