Battle of Saints Tilts Towards SJA With Big Victory at St. Peter
SJA’s boys basketball team turned into road warriors to close their season, winning 67-63 at St. Peter on February 28th to couple with a win at Edgerton the night before. Senior guard Anthony Sletta enjoyed the season finale, scoring 19 points to lead all scorers.
Third Time is Not Charmed as SJA Loses to Fairmont in Showcase
It was an early morning tipoff at the Big South Conference Showcase for the St. James Area Saints as they took on the Fairmont Cardinals once again, dropping a 66-47 decision. Alex Stresemann was the lone Saint to break double figure scoring.
Saints Score Decisive Win Over Mavericks on Senior Night
The St. James Saints girls basketball team honored seniors Taylor Sodeman and Lunden Swanson on February 20th, winning by a 7451 score over Martin County West. Sodeman, Journey Swanson, Jacey Swanson, and Madelyn Malmgren paced the victory by reaching double figures in points.

The St. James Area girls basketball’s season includes many highlights, amongst them is the KEYC Player of the Week honor for Taylor Sodeman. The Mankato television station recognizes an area player weekly, selected from schools and teams in the viewing area.

Guido Wallraven Climate Smart Tour

Guido Wallraven, Technical Director for Saerbeck, Germany’s Climate Community Project, visited St. James and Butterfield among other towns in the area. He started his morning with a meeting at the St. James Library and holding a presentation at the high school for students.

Section Tourney Ends With Big Pin for Saint Wrestler

St. James Area wrestler Kollin Anderson accomplished an impressive feat, winning by pin for the 50th time in his career, at the Section 2A Tournament on February 25th.
