Salutators honor 4 local businesses
In February, the St. James Salutators visited 4 local businesses to welcome them to the community.

St. James showcased strong community
It has been a month to showcase our strong community. On February 6, KNUJ radio spent the afternoon at Jake’s Pizza in St. James to help promote and showcase our town. People throughout the listening area had the opportunity to hear all about the many exciting things happening in St. James.

Start a New Cycle
We’ve come to the point of the year where the weather can’t seem to make up its mind. As I type this it’s raining with a forecast for the temperatures to drop below freezing at night. I’m then going to wish I bought stock in whatever salt company makes the salt that I will throw out on the sidewalks and make sure I do that in enough time before the predicted snow that’s supposed to come by tomorrow night. This way pedestrians won’t slip and fall on the snow-covered ice, nor will I, and I’ll avoid being chopped up by my snowblower. Okay, that’s a little extreme, but I’m sure you all understand what I’m saying.

City Council had a lot to discuss for this year’s fireworks show
The St. James City Council held its meeting on Tues Feb.


Guido Wallraven Climate Smart Tour
Guido Wallraven, Technical Director for Saerbeck, Germany’s Climate Community Project, visited St. James and Butterfield among other towns in the area. He started his morning with a meeting at the St. James Library and holding a presentation at the high school for students.

Kids will need to sign up ahead of time through school, as they always have. This month’s activity will be I-Spy bottles and will be held in the high school home ec room.

Knowledge Bowl takes 7th before subregionals
In their fourth and final regular-season competition of the year, the St. James Senior High Knowledge Bowl team, nicknamed “St. James Eggshell,” placed 7th out of 22 teams (from 8 schools) on Tuesday, February 21, in Mankato.
