Bayer Fund and Watonwan farmers team up to direct donations to rural nonprofits and schools
St. James, MN (October 14th, 2022) – Local farmer Arthur Carlson recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to the Speedway Builders 4-H Club of the Watonwan County 4-H Program. The Speedway Builders 4-H Club will use the funds to do a community service project that will benefit the county.

Butterfield VFW Post 9607 Celebrates Diamond Anniversary
Butterfield’s VFW Post 9607 on Oct. 3 celebrated 75 years of serving local veterans and their families.

Business Spotlight: St. James Veterinary Clinic
St. James Veterinary Clinic is the St. James EDA Business Spotlight of October. In September it opened its new location, next to Dollar General, after working over the summer making the old Food Pride into a clinic that will better fit the needs of the practice.
Relay for Life Quilt Raffle
Barb Reed worked on making a quilt made of Relay for Life Shirts from over the years that were donated by Rosie Winters. People were able to see the complete quilt at the relay on September 24th. While there raffle tickets were being sold for the quilt.
