The Little Lad
With a wave and a smile the little lad acknowledged the gentleman standing in the pew directly behind him. With tilted heads—one upward and the other down—their eyes met. Intentional it was on the part of the lad as the eyes behind the saucer- like layers of glass glared back.

Backyard chickens on discussion at St. James City Council meeting
At their Sept. 20 meeting, the St. James City Council heard Mayor Gary Sturm read the proclamation for St. James Women of Today week and handled several other business items including the 2023 levy and allowing backyard chickens.
