At the St. James City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 21, the council went over a code enforcement update, license fees for dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs, and 10th Ave. S sanitary sewer improvements.

17th Annual Madelia Health Golf Outing best on record
The Madelia Health Foundation 17th Annual Golf Outing was held on Wednesday, June 8. Since bringing back in-person golfing in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic, this tournament has been extremely popular and highly successful for Madelia Health.
Mayo Clinic Health System to offer COVID vaccines for ages 6 months to 5 years old starting Thursday
Mayo Clinic Health System sites in the Southwest Minnesota region will begin offering vaccine doses to children ages 5 and under beginning July 7. COVID-19 vaccines have been used under the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S.

University of Wisconsin-Stout Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Two students in the Plaindealer area were named to the list.
Are you Qualified for Ministry?
There was a checklist of things I had to do in order to become a pastor. Classes to take, internships, interviews, evidence of “the calling” (and probably more that I’ve forgotten). But even before I had the “ministry card”, I was in ministry and the only qualification was that I was a born again believer in Jesus Christ alone.
