Aviation is alive and active in St. James
This spring has been very cold, windy, and rainy. As a pilot, one has to be selective in the weather conditions available to fly. Just recently, the weather finally started to cooperate, and I was able to take a lesson in a tailwheel airplane at the St. James airport. For some time now I’ve been wanting to get re-current in tailwheel airplanes. If you haven’t flown a certain kind of airplane in a while, you want to re-familiarize yourself with it. It’s important for competency and safety. Last June I earned my tailwheel endorsement in Osceola, WI. I’ve flown tricycle gear airplanes since then but have had no tailwheel time. Ever since getting the endorsement I’ve been bitten by the tailwheel bug and have been waiting for my next tailwheel flight. What I found when taking this tailwheel lesson is that aviation is very active in St. James.
