As I begin to think about how to write this article and how Community Matters to me I was taken back in time to how I ended up here in St. James.
Pop-Art artist Amanda Wirig hosted workshop
Mankato native and Minneapolis based artist Amanda Wirig came to St. James Library to do an Pop-Art workshop for kids Friday afternoon. Kids were able to sign up and submit a selfie that they would paint at the workshop.
COVID-19 in rural Minnesota
Center of Rural Policy and Development and COVID Collaborative hosted a COVID-19 panel with healthcare and public health from rural areas as guest panelists. Dr. John O’horo Infectious Disease Specialist from the Mayo Clinic joined in on the panel too.
Super 8 staff say goodbye to Manager
Super 8 General Manager Angela Rathman was given a surprise farewell luncheon Monday afternoon. Her leaving comes with the hotel being bought by CK Patel and them not asking her to stay at her position.

St. James School Board met Monday night for this months board meeting.

Global food truck competition
Learning about global foods and how to make them has been the whole objective of a foods class at the high school this trimester. As a final project students in both sections of the class made their own food trucks.
