The University of Minnesota Extension hosts spring beef webinar
The University of Minnesota Extension is excited to host a four part spring beef webinar series titled: Genetic Selection with a Vision – An integrated approach to creating profitability and opportunities for every type of beef cattle producer. The Zoom meetings will be held Monday nights - February 21 and 28, and March 7 and 14 from 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm CST. The webinar series will focus on how to select for beef sire selection, associated costs using artificial insemination (AI) versus natural service, cost of raising replacement heifers versus purchasing them, and how to care for the bull throughout the year and prior to turnout to ensure a successful breeding season. Farmers, 4-H’ers, ag business professionals who work with farmers, and anyone interested in beef cattle production are invited to attend.
Klobuchar calls for lower prescription drug costs
WASHINGTON – On the Senate floor, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) called for Congress to take action to lower prescription drug costs, highlighting new legislation she introduced to decrease prices while increasing access to medications.
Jovonta Patton to Perform at ‘Maverick Gospel Night’ Feb. 18
Mankato, Minn. – Jovonta Patton, a five-time Billboard chart-topping gospel recording artist, composer, producer and entrepreneur, will perform during “Maverick Gospel Night” Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Centennial Student Union Ballroom.

K-9 Maya joins Watonwan County Sheriffs Department
The Watonwan County Sheriffs Department has a new four-legged member. K-9 Maya has joined Deputy Nicholas Kielas to become the department’s new K-9 unit.
