K-9 Maya joins Watonwan County Sheriffs Department
The Watonwan County Sheriffs Department has a new four-legged member. K-9 Maya has joined Deputy Nicholas Kielas to become the department’s new K-9 unit.
Steinle Law hosts presentation on how to protect yourself from being scammed
Scams are more common and affect more people than people think. St. James community members were able to learn more about scams and how to prevent being scammed. Wes Gilbert from Mankato Computer Technology and Pamela Steinle of Steinle Law collaborated on “The Ten Things To Do In 2022”.

ST. JAMES BLOOD DRIVE MEETS ITS GOAL
The St. James blood drive at First Presbyterian Church was successful, meeting the drive’s goal of 48 pints of blood donated.

Smells of February
“The kitchen smells like spring,” I thought to myself the other day. Then, “No, not spring. It smells like January and February.” The blue hyacinth we’ve been forcing is in full, fragrant bloom. Next time I go to Aldi I’ll pick up another one–white or pink. I think we had four last year.
