Watonwan County Soybean and Corn Board make donations

Watonwan County – Watonwan County farmers and their soybean checkoff dollars are giving back to local first responders this summer – and promoting the diverse uses of soybeans at the same time. The Watonwan County Soybean and Corn Board is following in the tire tracks of the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) and its 44 organized counties by turning the key on the “Driving Soy” campaign.

Smells of February

“The kitchen smells like spring,” I thought to myself the other day. Then, “No, not spring. It smells like January and February.” The blue hyacinth we’ve been forcing is in full, fragrant bloom. Next time I go to Aldi I’ll pick up another one–white or pink. I think we had four last year.

Normandale Community College announced its 2021 Fall Semester Dean’s list. Students named were enrolled in at least nine credits and had achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5. Madison Zavala of Madelia, was named to the Dean’s list.
