St. James city council met for its first meeting of 2022 on Tuesday, Jan.

Blue Jackets awarded to local FFA members
The Minnesota FFA Foundation is pleased to announce the presentation of the official FFA jacket to members of the St. James Area FFA Chapter. Cohen Dannhoff, Ethan Leimer, and Benton Sauer have been selected to receive their own jackets.

Cleo Sandmeyer Erickson
Cleo Sandmeyer Erickson is January's Senior Citizen Spotlight. Sandmeyer Erickson was born on Jan. 17, 1942 on her family's farm in St. James. She has lived her whole life in the area. Sandmeyer Erickson attended Country School District #45 for 1st through 8th grade. In 1960 Sandmeyer Erickson graduated from St. James High School.

Runges dominate at Region FFA contest
FFA is back doing in person contests again this year. In the spring of 2020, all contests were cancelled and during the 2020-2021 school year, all contests used a virtual format. This year, the members get to have the full experience of going to a contest.
