You May or May Not Like it But May is Here
After what has seemed like a never-ending winter, the month of May is finally upon us and with it, hope to truly believe in a spring and possible summer. A full slate of designated days are off and running with May Day, along with Lei Day in Hawaii, on the 1st, followed by Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Armed Forces Day, National Maritime Day, Victoria Day in Canada, and Memorial Day.

Never know what things are like until its gone
End of last week was a crazy and eventful time at my house. First we were getting things cleaned up, mostly putting warrens toys away, to get ready for my family to come down. Well that had to wait because our basement flooded, yay what everyone wants when you have company coming in a few days.

Let the Games Begin!
Okay, so we have had a few games but too many have been pushed off or canceled. When athletic schedules are created coaches look for opportunities to be safe and successful.

Tax day craziness
Tuesday was tax day, which means it was the final day to file your taxes. If we were in a classroom and the teacher asked who all waited for the last day to file, my husband and I would be raising our hands along with a handful of other people.
The Long Way Home
This week’s Plaindealer includes news of the recent hire for St. James Public Schools Activities Administrator. Jared Schwanz took nearly twenty years to complete the trip but he is making his way back home. The long way is most likely the best way in this case.

Shout out to all students
On Friday morning, I was driving over by Dairy Queen when I saw a group of kids running. I do not know if they are on the track or cross-country team, either way they were out there together running. Kudos to those kids, if any one of them are reading this good for you all for taking your time when school is out to keep on your training.
Determining Value Beyond Dollars
Whether you are an optimist, pessimist, or perfectionist, it looks like spring has arrived. The moment couldn’t have come soon enough for the more-than-anxious players and coaches of spring sports.
Ask a Trooper
Question: Do I need an oversize or wideload permit to haul a boat lift that is over 9 feet wide to my cabin? Answer: You would need to obtain a permit because the width is over 8 feet 6 inches. Hauling oversized items without a permit or escorts (if required) can be dangerous and is illegal.
Great Reason For a Difficult Change
Certainly, the familiar is comfortable. Even unsavory circumstances can grow to be accepted and perhaps chosen in favor of the unknown.

Disasters Of Another Kind
We all have a bad day from time to time. Mine can be attributed to my own fault on occasion, other days just seem to be a string of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
