Saints Girls Drop Pair of Conference Matchups
Big South Conference games were not kind to the St. James Area girls basketball team with losses to Redwood Valley and Waseca on consecutive nights. Taylor Sodeman scored 24 points on February 9th to pace the Saints and Madelyn Malmgren took scoring honors the following night at Waseca.

Waseca Wins League Battle Despite Banner Effort by SJA’s Olson
The Waseca Bluejays used red-hot shooting in the 1st half to post a 75-57 Big South Conference victory at St. James on February 10th. Cooper Olson’s steady performance led to his career- high 20 points to top all Saint scorers.

Wolner Repeats at State Entrant for MNGWL Tournament
The Saints Peyton Wolner represented the St. James Area program for the 2nd straight year at the Minnesota 9th Grade and Under Wrestling League State Tournament at Champlin Park High School on February 4th.
Cardinals Sweep St. James Area Basketball Doubleheader
SJA basketball fans all headed west as both varsity Saints teams played at Luverne on February 3rd with the host team winning the girls game 55-40 and 88-77 in the boys contest. The leadoff game matched the Saints girls with the Section frontrunner and a low scoring affair settled at 25-21 in favor of Luverne when halftime hit.

Star Saint Wrestler Hits Milestone During Madelia Event
The Saints dropped into the gym at nearby Madelia for a triangular on January 30th and captured a pair of victories but part of that success capped off a long list of wins. SJA junior Kollin Anderson secured his 75th win that evening and is already running down the next goal.

Explosion of Points and Overtime End With Huskies Win
The St. James Area Saints battled back to force an overtime against the Jackson County Central Huskies on February 6th but came up short in the 98-92 decision. Taylor Sodeman’s outstanding effort of 42 points was countered by JCC’s Rylie Cother’s school record 53 points to pace the winners.
Saints Wrestlers Roll Over Madelia and Springfield, Drop Match With RRC
Madelia hosted a quadrangular wrestling match on January 31st and St. James Area closed out a good month with a pair of wins. A major highlight was Kollin Anderson’s 75th career victory as he earned three wins during the evening.
Home Wrestling Triangular Ends in Split for St. James Area
The Saints ran roughshod over LeSueur-Henderson by a 57-24 score but came up just short, 37-36, to St. Clair on February 3rd. Head coaches included former teammates Ethan Hildebrandt for St. James Area and Giovanni Alvarado for St. Clair.
Youngest Wrestlers Bring Home Hardware From Lake Crystal Tourney
On January 29th the St. James Cyclones Wrestling Club was represented at the K-3 duals in Lake Crystal and reeled off four straight wins to take top honors.
Second Half at Jackson Hands Saints 79-68 Setback
The St. James Area boys basketball team played at Jackson County Central on February 6th, holding tight with a 35-35 knot at halftime but eventually ending up on the wrong side of another Big South Conference score.
