Gymnastics to be Led by Farber for 2022-23 Season
The new head coach for St. James Area gymnastics is Sydney Farber, a student-teacher in the school district. Originally from Andover, Farber’s background in gymnastics is welcomed by the Saints program.

2022 Volleyball Banquet Highlights Athletic and Academic Achievements
The St. James Area Saints volleyball team fit the term “student- athlete” with outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and competing on the volleyball court. Players, parents, coaches, and fans gathered at Augustana Lutheran Church to celebrate their season.

NDSU Makes Successful Pitch for St. James Area’s Bowers
Elite success garners attention from all corners and for the Saints Addie Bowers the attention led to signing a National Letter of Intent with North Dakota State University. The FCS program has captured 10 of 14 Summit League titles under the direction of Head Coach Darren Mueller.

Cross Country Wraps Up Season of Success at 2022 Banquet
Athletes, coaches, parents, and fans gathered at Augustana Lutheran Church on November 13th to recognize achievements and announce awards. Fresh off cheering for St. James Area runners at the State Cross Country Meet, the Saints program had plenty to be proud of.

2022 MSHSCA Hall of Fame Inductees Includes SJA’s Les Zellmann
On October 8th, the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association held an awards ceremony and Saints tennis coaching legend Les Zellmann was inducted in the Hall of Fame. The ceremony, held at the Sheraton Minneapolis West-Ridgedale, named five coaches to the Hall of Fame along with awards for officials, Coaches of the Year, and Assistant Coaches of the Year.

Miest and Trejo Race to Strong Finishes at State Cross Country
Levi Miest earned a spot on the All-State roster and America Trejo ran one of her best times ever at the MSHSL Cross Country State Championships at St. Olaf College on Saturday, November 5th. It was the 30th year for St. Olaf to host the event, crowning winners for team and individual titles for three classes.
State Meet Stands as Finale for New Butterfield-Odin Cross Country Team
Increased numbers, strong team placings, and an All-State honoree were all landmarks for the initial season for the Butterfield-Odin cross country program after a long pairing with St. James. A full regular season schedule wrapped up with a 12th place finish at the State Cross Country Meet by Ryan Pierson.

Accomplishments and Awards Headline a Packed Football Banquet
Empty seats were hard to come by at the 2022 St. James Area football banquet on November 6th, held at the First Presbyterian Church. Award winners followed the review of each level of the program that finished a season, and a long losing streak.
