Saints Tennis goes two-for-two
Saints Tennis had a busy week of matches, it started with St. Peter visiting on Tuesday, followed by Redwood Valley visiting on Thursday.

St. James Saints fall to Blue Earth Area 6-5
The St. James Area baseball team made a valiant effort to come back but fell just short as they stranded three runners on base in the final inning to suffer a tough 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers.
Jones leads Saints to Conference Win
Starting pitcher Connor Jones continued his great pitching Thursday with a three hit effort against Redwood Valley. Jones surrendered a pair of hits in the third inning and a throwing error allowed two runs to cross in that frame, but he was in control the rest of the way, including striking out five in the last two innings.

First outdoor meet ends in boys taking first
For the first time this season the Saints track team was able to compete outside on a track. Before this they have competed at two indoor meets, with both teams have members place in a few events.

Saints Baseball notches season opening win
The St. James Area Baseball team has been waiting for four weeks to get outside and when they finally got out on the field Monday against GHEC/ML/T, it didn’t take them long to make a statement.
Addie Bowers shuts out JCC
The St. James softball team has a preseason scrimmage game under their belts, but as of last Tuesday they can say they have not only a regular season game under their belt, but also a win.

Saints defeat Hutchinson 6-1
St. James hosted Hutchinson last Monday for their home opener.
Boys track has winning meet
After the cold weather last Tuesday canceled their home track meet the Saints track team traveled to Mankato for the Buc Indoor Invite on Thursday to make up for it. Top boy finishers: 55 meter Anthony Sletta tied for 3rd (7.1) 200 meter Freddy Garcia 5th (26.8) 400 Noah Anderson 1st (55.9), Fabian Herrera 4th (59.1) 800 meter Marco Crispin 2nd (2:20.8), Levi Miest 3rd (2:22.6).

Cyclones bring home a national champion and 5 medals
The St. James Cyclones were in action at some tough tournaments this past weekend. Six Cyclones took to the mat in Rochester at the NYWA State tournament, bringing home 5 medals highlighted by Liam Freeman’s state championship. Liam participated in the 1-2nd grade 65lb weight class crushing his opponents on his way to the title. He pinned his first opponent in 0:18, tech falled his 2nd round opponent 15-0, got a pin in 2:30 in the semi finals, and finished with a 6-0 decision in the finals for his 2nd consecutive NYWA state championship. Knoxyn Barrett participated in the 3-4th grade 115 lb weight class and brought home a 5th place medal. He started his tournament with a 0:23 fall, dropped his quarterfinals match 5-8, then stormed back with a 6-2 & 2-0 decision to earn his way into the medal rounds. He dropped an 11-0 match and ended his tournament with a fall in 1:23 to earn 5th place. George Stevensen participated in the 3-4th grade 80lb weight class for the Cyclones. George dropped his first match by a close 7-0 decision. He then moved into the wrestlebacks and beat his next opponent by a 7-0 decision in his favor. George lost to his next opponent 6-0 ending his tournament.
Saints tennis team opens season with 1-2 tournament loss
St. James boys tennis had their first tournament of the season, it could not have been a better day to play tennis since the days leading up to it were cold.
