St. James hosts gymnastics 2A section tournament
On Feb. 10, the Saint James Saints gymnastics performed for the last time this season at the Section 2A tournament hosted in their home gym. They were joined by the other 7 teams in the section, New Ulm, Martain County Area, Blue Earth Area, Mankato West, Fairbault,Waseca, and St. Peter. All teams performed at their best and was a fun and energetic meet to participate in and watch! End of the night team totals had St. James in 8th with a 102.4, 7th Fairbault with a 102.625, 6th Martain County Area with a 125.3, 5th Blue Earth with 128.3, 4th Waseca with 130.85, 3rd New Ulm Area with 136.775, 2nd St. Peter with 139.5, and 1st place and advancing to the state tournament was Mankato West with a 146.95.

The Saints traveled to Worthington on Feb. 8 for their last regular-season varsity action.

Easton Tetzloff wins Fantasy Football Championship
Easton Tetzloff was presented with a Championship Trophy last Sunday at Jake’s Pizza for winning the 8th and 9th Street Fantasy Football League. Easton’s Team (Beaston123) not only won the league championship, but also his division. He was able to notch 12 wins for the year and beat out 9 other teams for the trophy! JAKE OLDENBURG

It’s starting to get to the end of the regular season for the St. James boys basketball team.

Saints overcome a 24-point deficit to beat New Ulm
The Saints hosted New Ulm on Friday night. New Ulm gave the Saints little chance of having a good start to the game with them getting shots from St. James turning the ball over. Shooting for the Saints did not go well either in the first half.

SWANSON AWARDED EXCEL AWARD
Lunden Swanson was awarded the EXCEL Award before Monday nights game against Mountain Lake Comfry. This award is given to juniors who volunteer, excel in the classroom and also who are involved in their school. SARAH BUNICH

Saints gymnastics saw lineup changes on Friday
Saint’s gymnasts celebrated Parent’s Night and Senior Night last Friday, February 4. While some unexpected injuries in warm-ups created some quick lineup changes and nerves the girls put on a good show as usual and gave all they had. The night’s results were Luverne winning the night with a team score of 130.525 to SJA’s 100.275. Looking at the top 5 places on each event senior captain Anna Bogle tied for 5th on vault with a 8.1, 5th on beam with a 6.35, and 4th in the all-around with a total of 28.45.


Saintettes bring audience around the world
The St. James Saintettes dance team performed their annual Extravaganza on Saturday. After last year’s Extravaganza having a limit on the number of people who could attend, the Armstrong Auditorium was packed for this year’s Extravaganza under the theme of “ Dancing Around the World”.
