Saintettes bring audience around the world
The St. James Saintettes dance team performed their annual Extravaganza on Saturday. After last year’s Extravaganza having a limit on the number of people who could attend, the Armstrong Auditorium was packed for this year’s Extravaganza under the theme of “ Dancing Around the World”.

Saints girls basketball score the most points since 2007
The Saints girls’ basketball team played against four high skilled teams this last week. The girls went up against Windom first last Monday, this was a big section game for St.

Girls team drops three; Jones stands out in close game for boys
The Saints girls basketball team lost all three of its games last week: 79-64 at Sleepy Eye, 72-32 at home against Luverne and 58-33 at home against Big South East powerhouse Fairmont 58-33. “We played very well at Sleepy Eye, actually,” said St.

Saints try new skills against MCA
On Thursday, January 28th the St. James gymnasts saw the MCA Magic’s on the competition floor. While the Saint’s finally were able to beat their high score from last season they still fell short when it came to overall team totals. The Saint’s fell to the Magic’s team score of 127.85 by scoring a 104.85. In individual results SJA was able to capture a few of the top 5 places. Senior captain, Anna Bogle, took 5th on the floor exercise with a score of 8.35, 3rd on the balance beam with a 8.15, and 2nd in the all around competition with a 30.35. In the all around competition teammate Katelyn Rodriguez captured 3rd with a total score of 25.25.

Saints working toward sections
On Friday, the Saints traveled to the inaugural High Water Ethanol Invitational hosted by Red Rock Central high school. The Saints placed eighth out of 10 teams, scoring 66 team points.
Outback Bowl review
A group from St. James recently performed in the pre-game and halftime shows at the Outback Bowl in Tampa Bay, Florida, on Jan. 1. The game was between the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Arkansas Razorbacks with Arkansas coming out on top, 10-24.

Jaelyn Haler signs to play at University of Sioux Falls
Jaelyn Haler signed to play tennis for the University of Sioux Falls, Head Coach Kevin Grebin announced Haler's signing last week. Haler is a multi sport athlete for the Saints, she played four sports during her four years of high school, tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball.

Saints gymnastics team fight on with injury and illness
Saints gymnasts have a had a busy last few days. On Thursday January 13th the girls had a rough night falling to Waseca's 128.425 team total to SJA's 98.225. Same situation for the JV team with Waseca scoring 114.1 to SJA's 50.75. The Saint's team line up was short due to a few injuries and illnesses. Other things also came up through the night that had the team at a disadvantage. They kept their heads high and smiles on their faces though, and put their focus into the next meet.

Saints took on two tough competitors
St. James Girls Basketball traveled to Waseca on Friday for their one game last week. The game started with the Saints getting off to a big lead in the first with a score of 35-16. This was after a moment of them trailing 20-12.
