Jermaine Grove

Jermaine Grove, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 23 at Good Samaritan, Sogge Memorial in Windom. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom with Father Pratap officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Windom. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, April 8 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home in Windom.
Jermaine Mary Helen (Sandmeyer) Grove was born on July 14, 1941, to Roman and Coletta (Kruger) Sandmeyer, in St. James. She was baptized and confirmed in St. James.
Jermaine attended St. James Public School and graduated from St. James High School with the class of 1959. On June 27, 1959, Jermaine and Jerome William Grove were united in marriage. The marriage was blessed with three children, Blair, Bryon and Brenda. The couple moved to Iowa after marriage and lived there for a short time before making their home in Windom.
Jermaine worked at Winfair Elementary School in Windom for 3 years in food service. She worked for 25 years at the Home for Creative Living and another 5 years with Adult Day Services until retirement in 2000. Jermaine loved her family, and she enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Price Is Right, and camping, in her younger years.
Jermaine is survived by her two sons, Blair (Brandi) Grove and Bryon (Sandy) Grove, both of Windom; 10 grandchildren, Matt (Steph) Farber of Windom, Scott Farber (friend Olivia) of Windom, Robby (Savana) Farber of Windom, Kaylee (Ali) Grove of Windom, Ashley (Mitchell) Palmer of Colorado, Bryce (Karissa) Grove of Foley, Abby (Jared Baloun) Grove of Windom, Jessy (Amber) Grove of Owatonna, Ashley Nerhus of Spencer, Iowa, Jenae (Jason) Schmidt of Cottage Grove; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; two siblings, Arlene (Robert) Roeglin of St. James, LuEtta Sandmeyer of Windom; and several nieces and nephews.
Jermaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Grove; her parents, Roman and Coletta; her daughter, Brenda Lee Farber; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Grove; and two brothers, Jerome and Virgal.
